ZeroG is a sci-fi/space racing game in the likes of wipEout or the old series Xtreme G. But compared to these examples, the races in ZeroG are not bound to "solid" racetracks like streets but the player can maneuver his ship in three dimensional space. Of course the freedom of movement is limited by something similar to a corridor which actually is the racetrack. But inside of this corridor the player can move in every direction from left to right, up and down.

The basic concept of the gameplay can be compared to games like Need for Speed, Shox or similar games. After fullfilling certain circumstances (to be under the first three racers, kill a certain opponent) or if the player has won a race, new tracks and challenges will be available. By winning races, the player will get money or special points to enhance his ship and qualify for the next race. Every time the player wins a race new branches of the tree-like race system will be available.
The story and the basic game flair are very much like in the "Cannonball" or "Auf dem Highway ist die Hölle los"-movies. It should be a cool flair of some illegal contests only done by most daring people of the univers.
Graphics-wise the game leans towards movies like "Lost in Space" or the "Star Wars"-movies and of course how other games in this genre look, like Xtreme G, F-Zero, wipEout, ??? (Spiel von Atlus)
The game should have "arcade style" as if it was made for the arcade. Games like Shox or F-Zero show how this works. This means that the player needs to be able to get the grip of the game very fast and with as less time to settle into it. On the other hand ZeroG should have the possiblity to change all of the settings and presets for the race, the enemies, the weapons and tracks very easy and fast. The player should have absolute freedom of choices for all settings.

One of the biggest thrills of such games is the possibility to open up new tracks, ships and extras. This is a integral part of the game. During the game the player can get new ships or tuning parts for the single and mulitplayer modus, as well as new tracks and track variations. He can also get access to new weapons systems and to weapon upgrades.
For ZeroG there is a strong focus on multiplayer and onlinegames which have a quite different and expanded gameplay compared to singleplayer. Add-ons like new tracks and ships are vital to the game. This can be done by the onlines systems provided by Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo.
